With over one hundred years behind it, Bodegas Bilbaínas has remained loyal to the philosophy that inspired its founder Santiago de Ugarte back in 1901.
Registered as the oldest bottling firm in La Rioja, it is proud to be the winery with the largest surface area of underground “made by hand” cellars throughout the entire region (3,400 m2) and with the largest expanse of vineyards in the Haro municipality, surrounding the winery. 250 hectares all in all, which supply the winery with exceptional quality grapes thus ensuring expedient processing without jeopardizing quality.
Established in the heart of the Haro Station district, its strategic location enabled it to take advantage of convenient trail way transport to export its wines around the world. Many harvest has gone by since then and throughout this time with its insignia brand, Viña Pomal, the Rioja’s centenary winery, has kept intact its personal style, which has reaped so many prizes and brought so much international recognition for the appellation.
